Catalog description

This course studies the procedure for a physical examination of the chest, the administration of medical gases, therapeutic aerosol, and the use of oxygen analyzers in adult patients, children, and neonates. In this way the student develops his scientific reasoning competence. The student is exposed to develop their quantitative reasoning competence by analyzing the use, function, operation, and maintenance of equipment used to administer medical gases and medications by inhalation. Finally, the concepts of infection control and the management of the medical record are included, stimulating the development of critical thinking competence in the student. The student will demonstrate the correct techniques for hand washing, use of surgical masks, disposable gowns, and gloves, applying in turn, infection control techniques. You will use information management techniques for the use of data collection and file documentation. He will be capable of initiating and modifying therapeutic procedures such as: handling, control of medical gases, storage, administration of medications and oxygen analyzers. In addition, you will handle materials and life support equipment such as: nebulizers, ultrasonic nebulizers, humidifiers, high and low flow systems, aerosol, and humidity.
