THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS IN PUBLIC MANAGEMENT

Catalog description
The course will provide a comprehensive analysis and study in decision -making and action of the underlying issues of public policy scientific research; problem definition, description, theory, model building, explanation, and prediction in research. The co urse reviews the main substantive theories of public alternatives and examines them from a logical perspective of public decision making. The course will be developed using different teaching methodologies including, but not limited to: readings, audiovisu al presentations, case analysis, assignments, action research, field experiences, and lectures. The course trains them to manage and introduce innovation in efficient and effective organizations through scientific analysis. The contents of this course were revised so that they can be offered through activities in various study modalities and in pandemic, hurricane or other event scenarios that make it difficult to attend in person in the classroom.
