TREATING IMPAIRMENTS OF BODY STRUCTURE/FUNCTION

Catalog description

Using video demonstrations, interactive labs, lectures, active learning assignments and immersions or integrated clinical experiences, this course builds skills needed to select and perform interventions addressing impairments of body structure/function including pain, weakness, imbalance, and loss of joint/muscle mobility across the lifespan. Interventions include strengthening, joint mobilization, stretching, balance training, and physical agents across the lifespan. Students experience a simulation worki ng as part of an interprofessional pain team. Integrated Clinical Experiences or Immersion Experiences are used to incorporate theory with practice.
