Catalog description

This course focuses on how to work with vulnerable populations, offers an overview of treatments and problems, and presents a basic structure to care for the vulnerable with the ultimate goal of providing culturally competent care. You learn to apply resea rch, measurement and epidemiological methods to assess vulnerable populations. The course is aimed at developing a profile of applied research in the field of health care aimed at the population, especially vulnerable populations. It is the advanced traini ng aimed at the development of research activities in situations of vulnerability, such as women's health, childhood, and people with chronic and dependency problems, migratory phenomena and social exclusion. In this sense, in this course the nursing profe ssional learns to build community care programs aimed at social sectors such as: women and children, people belonging to ethnic minorities, immigrants, homeless people, the elderly, people with chronic problems and disabled people. It facilitates the development of competencies r elated to prevention and health promotion, advanced care for vulnerable groups, research and evidenced based practice, information and healthcare technology, public health policy and leadership and professionalism.
