Catalog description

This course, allow to develop skills focused on the design process, making plans, representing graphically and with vectors using the computer program SolidWorks. This program permits to develop plans in 2 and 3 dimensions, to create drawings, assemble prototypes, and create engineering documents using a computerized program that works in 3D, employing critical thinking and technological skills. Doing practical exercises using computerized tools a nd creating prototypes. MEEN 418 EXPERIMENTAL METHODS 1 CREDIT This course teaches the principles of mechanical measurements. In addition, the operational characteristics and limitations of various sensors and transducers, error analysis, an introduction to Lab view, and digital data acquisition are discussed in this course. Students will use quantitative thinking and scientific reasoning competences to analyze and interpret the sensor’s data acquired during experiments. Additionally, students will develop co mmunication skills, as well as ethics and diversity, required to study the different measurement systems and produce written reports at the level required in the industry.
