This course introduces students to the core principles of professional practice, legal frameworks, and ethical responsibilities in the field of landscape architecture. Through an in-depth study of industry standards, contract law, project management, and r egulatory compliance, students will gain practical insights into the complexities of professional practice. The curriculum is designed to equip students with critical skills for navigating client relations, drafting contracts, managing risk, and upholding ethical standards in sustainable and responsible design. The course combines lectures, case studies, and hands -on assignments, covering essential topics such as contract negotiation, intellectual property, environmental and zoning regulations, and construction site management. Students will analyze real -world case studies, practice drafting contracts, and explore challenges related to ethics and public welfare in design. By the course’s end, students will be prepared to engage in professional practice with confidence, understanding both their responsibilities and the legal frameworks that guide the field.
