Catalog description

This course will discuss aspects of landform manipulation and consideration of natural and built elements. The development of landscape design, its contours, relief, and hydrography at different scales and grading is addressed. Students will develop quanti tative reasoning competency in the development of slope calculations, drainage calculations, and land cutting and filling calculations. Aspects of the site's ecology and microclimate, and their influence on the design, will be studied. Finally, the design of horizontal and vertical alignment of roads will be discussed.
