Scientific study of the methodology in the collection and processing of all those indications of evidence generated in and outside the crime scene. Scientific, practical and theoretical study of the crime scene with the purpose of reconstructing the scene and collecting information and evidence that will be used to establish, based on forensic methodology, the what, how, who, where, when and why of a crime. Upon completion of the course, the student will have developed the following skills: Critical thinkin g by being able to exhaustively analyze complex crime scene situations. Communication by being able to document and present findings in a clear and concise manner in writing and orally, effectively communicating the product of the analysis and its conclusi ons in a professional manner. Technological proficiency in using and becoming familiar with the latest forensic tools and technologies. Information skills in seeking, evaluating, and using various sources of data and evidence accurately and effectively. Et hics and diversity when considering ethical aspects in decision -making and in the management of evidence with respect to the rights of those involved. Scientific reasoning and forensic investigation by using scientific methods and principles in the collection and analysis of evidence in the criminal context and applying scientific logic in the problem solving of crimes issues.
