Catalog description

The course applies the principles of chemistry to the maintenance and improvement of the quality of the environment. Environmental chemical analysis includes the study of reactions, transport, effects, and fates of chemical species in aquatic, soil, and atmospheric environments, as well as the impact of technology on them. The course examines pollution problems, their biological and toxicological effects, and the related chemical mechanisms. Some environmental chemical analysis procedures and methods are discussed and analyzed through laboratory experiences.
