Catalog description

Study of methods and common practices for embedded systems design with a top -down approach. The course will be focused in learning computer industry standards for control systems, the code development environment to control central processing units (CPUs). Also designing and programming an embedded system using printed circuits boards and microcontrollers. Current issues surrounding embedded development will be examined and common solutions discussed. T he course is established through lectures, problem solving, simulations, and laboratory experiments to develop higher thinking processes such as scientific and quantitative reasoning, responsible use of technology, and critical thinking. One semester, 1.5 hours of classroom and 1.5 hours of laboratory per week.
