CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN EARLY CHILD EDUCATION

Clinical Experience is the course where the teacher candidate makes observations, activities and reflections in a systematic and structured way. They are related to their area of specialty and to the teaching and learning process, as carried out daily in schools. It also offers them field experiences that give them the opp ortunity of learning directed towards reflection and the integration of theory into teaching practice. The teacher candidate will have the opportunity to evaluate their skills for the control and management of behaviors and analyze various evaluation strategies. In addition, you will use the standards for instructional planning according to the level at which you work. Therefore, it will create educational materials and analyze controversies related to education in Puerto Rico. The teacher candidate must de velop and strengthen six (6) of the eleven (11) professional competencies of the teacher. The teacher candidate will have the option to select 2 of the six competencies and the four compulsory ones are: 1) instructional strategies 2) diversity and special needs 3) evaluation and assessment and 4) Technology integration. The time required will be 100 hours, distributed in: 85 hours in the school or educational center where they will carry out clinical experiences and 15 hours in a seminar.
