Catalog description

This course is designed to expand upon the fundamental concepts of endodontic treatment while providing a practical lab-based component. Through this course, the student participates in lab exercises covering basic root canal treatment from start to finis h. Students also get to understand the concept of success and failure in endodontics and learn to recognize when a retreatment is required. Students also learn to recognize that, based on complexity of treatment needs, some patients must be referred to a specialist. In the theoretical trauma module, students learn how to classify dentoalveolar lesions and know the effect that these could have on pulp tissue, tooth prognosis, and its adjacent bone structures, as well as the clinical management.
