Panoramic study of the mass media. Includes historical development, structure, characteristics and regulations are studied. The impact of media convergence and transformation from traditional media to digital media is analyzed. In addition, it further deep ens on the economic, social, and cultural impact that the media has on the public, including their influence on creating stereotypes. It provides an area for the analysis of the historical expansion of the media in Puerto Rico, including their primary prop ellers. The course develops competences like critical thinking, technology, information skills and scientific reasoning through discussion, critical analysis, video analysis, use of technological and investigational tools.
