Catalog description

Fundamental principles of fluid mechanics include water properties, force hydrostatic pressure, conservation of mass, energy, and momentum, and their application on turbulent flow in pipes, further, pressure pipes, pipe networks analysis, and open channels. Analytical techniques about designing various hydraulic structures such as submerged gates, branched pipes, and design cross -sections in open channe ls. Basic principles of the hydrologic cycle and watershed hydrology. Students will develop quantitative, technological, information skills, and critical thinking to select the best alternative in designing a pipe network and solve difficulties related to surfaces exposed to hydrostatic pressure such as dams.
