Catalog description

This graduate course provides a holistic and interdisciplinary perspective on coastal geomorphology, exploring its importance in coastal environmental research and management. The program will address coastal classification, oceanographic processes, erosion and sedimentation, climate change and sea level rise, human influence on coasts, and coastal management. Through case studies and discussions of research methodologies, students will learn to understand and analyze the complex interactions between coastal geomorphological processes and the environmental and human phenomena that influence them. In addition, the importance of coastal management and adaptation to climate change for preserving the coastal environ ment and preventing natural disasters will be emphasized. The course will also discuss future trends and perspectives in coastal environmental research and management, including integrating advanced technologies and interdisciplinary approaches in coastal geomorphology research. This knowledge will enable students to develop critical skills to address emerging challenges and adapt to changing needs in coastal environmental research and management.
