This upper -level biology course explores the principles and mechanisms underlying animal behavior from an evolutionary, neurophysiological, genetic, and ecological perspective. Students will analyze behavioral processes such as communication, learning, foraging, mating, territoriality, social interaction, and parental care. The course emphasizes the integration of scientific reasoning, ethical reflection, and effecti ve communication. Topics include behavior development, environmental stimuli, social and reproductive strategies, cultural transmission, and behavioral adaptations. The course also addresses the ethical considerations of animal research and its relevance t o conservation, human-animal interaction, and public health.
