Basic Peace Officer Training II

Catalog description

Second half of the mandated Ohio Attorney General/Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) training for individuals to attain certification as peace officers in Ohio law enforcement agencies. Consists of mandated cognitive and psychomotor skills training for entry level Ohio law enforcement officers. OPOTA requires cadets to complete all 740 hours of academy training consecutively with the same academy class. Therefore, CJS 2280 and CJS 2281 must be taken consecutively. If a cadet does not complete both courses consecutively, they must reapply and complete the entire academy with a new academy class.
