Earth and Space Science

Catalog description

An introduction to the science of geology and astronomy designed to give the student an appreciation for the forces that shape the surface of the earth and for the size and complexity of the universe. Topics covered include rocks, landscapes, earthquakes, volcanoes, sedimentary layers, the structure of the solar system and the universe. Particular emphasis will be placed on reconciling the current understanding of geology and cosmology with the biblical account. (Prerequisite: Completion of 30 units.) This course satisfies the non-lab science requirement in General Education.
