Nursing Care: Child/Adolescent

Catalog description

The course focus is on the theoretical and clinical concepts of care of the children and adolescents utilizing the nursing process. Utilizing the nursing process, students will develop culturally competent nursing practices for the promotion of wellness and management of common healthcare issues and concerns as they relate to children and adolescents. The student will use the nursing process to provide comprehensive care to children in diverse settings across the care continuum with a focus on family-centered care. Patient safety issues that put children at greater risk will be emphasized. The clinical environment includes the care of the pediatric patient in the healthcare setting.
