Catalog description

A study of thh components of methodology and a comprehensive balanced reading curriculum as defined by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing's requirement for preservice reading instruction. Special emphasis will be placed on the skills of beginning reading, phonics, issues of instruction for English language learners, the writing process, assessment fo the language arts, interrelationship of the language arts meeting state of California Academic Content Standards in the Language Arts. 15 observational hours in a school setting required.
