Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the concepts, techniques and applications of production/operation management, with practical applications in manufacturing and service organizations. Topics include product and process design, total quality management, capacity planning, Just-In-Time (JIT) production systems, production, planning and control including work measurement, forecasting, scheduling, inventory control, material requirements planning, project management and systems maintenance improvement. Ethical and moral implications of management decisions will be considered and evaluated. Managerial issues will be combined with technical methods and quantitative applications. (Prerequisites: BUSS 2610, ACCT 2910, BUSS 2930, BUSS 2940)
