Catalog description
This course covers computer literacy fundamentals, including operations, terminology, applications, and an introduction to AI concepts, with lab work focusing on word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and AI-enhanced educational tools using IBM-compatible computers. Students will explore the brief history of computers and examine some of the challenges arising with the digital revolution, including ethical considerations in AI development. The curriculum also incorporates basic prompt engineering techniques and critical evaluation of AI-generated content to prepare students for the evolving technologuical landscape.
