Units: 3 Formerly known as HIST 0017B Hours: 54 lecture This course is a historical survey of the United States from the end of the Civil War to the present. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Emphasis on national political, economic, intellectual, and social trends and their impact on constitutional law; industrialization and urbanization; evolution of American ethnic, cultural and racial pluralism; and role of United States in world affairs.
