Catalog description

Units: 3 Hours: 54 lecture Covers historical, cultural, psychological and social precursors and effects of the three primary forms of domestic violence: spousal/partner, child and elder abuse. Responsibilities and roles of law enforcement, prosecution, court, corrections, medical and social service professionals are studied. Crisis intervention, multi-disciplinary investigation and interviewing, forensic examination and adjudication issues are addressed. Examines other legal issues including mandated reporting and protective orders and explores both prevention and intervention resources available in the community. (not transferable)
