Catalog description

This course explains the cultural history of the Hispanic world in terms of domination, exploitation, oppression, and movements toward resistance and justice. Of the many forms of oppression against which individuals and groups have found themselves obliged to struggle, racism will be considered in the greatest detail. The course is centered on the discussion of historical and literary texts as well as the analysis of various artforms. It satisfies the requirement for a Diversity course within General Education.
