Catalog description
This course provides a historical and cultural understanding of Hispanic presence in the United States through an interdisciplinary approach. Through an analysis of the wide variety of historical, political, sociological, and artistic components students will achieve a deep understanding of the impact and relevance of the multiple Latin American cultures that are part of the Latino experience in the American society, discuss issues of systemic inequities, racism and oppression, and grow an awareness about how power and privilege work.
