Catalog description

This course will introduce concepts and composing strategies for negotiating rhetorical situations in professional and technical contexts. Students in this class will produce a multitude of documents in a variety of genres and modes, including proposals, reports and multimedia presentations. One major focus of this course will be on the practical approaches to both workplace and other professional, audience-driven writing projects. Another focus will be on readings and class discussions centered on strategies for achieving rhetorical goals, the affordances of design, the dynamics of collaborative writing work and the ethical underpinnings of composing practices.
