Directed Teaching in Secondary Music

Catalog description

This course consists of observation and teaching in the public schools under the direct supervision of public school faculty and Shenandoah Conservatory faculty. At present, the minimum number of directed teaching hours is 300, which is subject to change, as specified by the Virginia Board of Education to fulfill teacher licensure requirements. The student teaching experience as required by Shenandoah Conservatory, including observation, teaching and seminars, is a full semester in duration.
