Catalog description
This course, an English version of SPAN 312 , focuses on the historic, political, religious, intellectual, artistic and social life of Latin American countries. Students will develop a deeper understanding of its various people and cultures. Specific historical events, from pre-Columbian times to the 21st century, will be studied alongside representative examples of cultural production in the fields of art, literature, music and film. Students seeking to fulfill their Spanish degree requirements with this course must take SPAN 312 . Students will not earn credit for both HIST 312 and SPAN 312 .
