Catalog description

This course introduces students to the origins and ramifications of the Holocaust with special emphasis on women’s experiences during the Holocaust. Drawing on primary sources of women’s studies and trauma theory, the course explores the complex interplay of gender, race, nation and global culture in the context of mass murder. No prior knowledge of the Holocaust is necessary. GWST 100 is recommended but not required.
