Catalog description

This course introduces students to the constructions of gender and sexuality in society at large. Drawing on primary sources of feminist and queer theories, the course examines the complex interplay of gender roles related to social, political, religious, racial and cultural movements, as well as transnational perspectives. No prior knowledge of gender studies is necessary. Completion of GWST 100 is recommended but not required. Enrollment is limited to students with junior or senior standing.
