Advanced Filmmaking

Catalog description

This course advances students’ knowledge and proficiency in filmmaking with emphasis on producing and directing as well as instruction and experience working at the various film crew positions. Students will learn all aspects of production especially the use of contracts necessary in filmmaking, such as director contracts, actor contracts, crew deal memos, location agreements and how to negotiate them. Students will also be instructed as to auditioning actors, casting and blocking actors as well as camera technique. All students will create a 15-minute dramatic film.
