Catalog description
This course for dance majors (and others with instructor’s permission), presents basic elements and principles of composing movement for dance. Simple compositional forms for the solo performer are stressed. Technology skills that support choreographic creativity are developed. A repertoire of questioning strategies in literal, interpretive, critical and evaluative thinking is developed in both oral and written formats. This course develops a foundation of knowledge, skills and processes for choreography appropriate to dance performance and teaching.
