Catalog description

This course will be an in-depth study of victimology, victims and victimization. The course will examine the impact of crime on victims and the relationship between offenders and victims. Topics covered will include the extent and nature of victimization, the role victims play within the criminal justice system, rights of crime victims, the media, risk factors and crime prevention policy, and victim programs. The course will also review theories of victimization.
