Catalog description
(same as HIST 365 ) This course is an interdisciplinary topics course examining the impact of human disease on the development of human history. Topics to be discussed include: 1) fundamental information about different types of diseases, disorders, syndromes and disease processes; 2) an extensive review of significant points in history where either the illness and possible death of an individual leader or wide spread epidemics changed the course of human history; and 3) research papers and presentations by each student participating in the course. Diseases to be discussed include infectious diseases and genetic disorders. Three lecture hours per week.
