Catalog description

This non-majors course surveys basic concepts of the biological sciences through research projects, class discussions and lab exercises. Students will examine the nature of science and gain insight into many of the social implications of scientific knowledge, including how information gained through scientific study is used to develop public policy and make informed decisions. This course addresses competencies for Virginia state elementary (K-6) teacher licensure.
