Catalog description
This course is for students who have demonstrated competency in American Sign Language (ASL) through the second semester of university instruction. Students will continue to develop vocabulary, conversational competence and grammatical knowledge within a total immersion approach. It introduces increasingly complex grammatical aspects including those unique to ASL, as well as incorporating sections on deaf culture and literature. Contact with the deaf community is encouraged to enhance linguistic and cultural knowledge.
