Catalog description

In this course students will develop foundational skills and techniques in sculpture and three-dimensional design. Students will be able to compare, contrast and experiment with using different sculptural media and approaches, such as clay, wire, wood, paper, recycled materials and assemblage. This course utilizes scale, connectivity and positive-negative space to explore creative expression through the form in space. Context and concept are also considered, as well as histories and practices relevant to contemporary sculpture.
