Metal Cutting Processes Is a competency-based course designed to provide students with practical experience and proficiency in various metal cutting techniques. This class focuses on the performance of oxygen hand torch cutting, track torch cutting, plasma cutting, and carbon are gouging operations. Students will leam to follow industry standards for cutting processes, demonstrate safety precautions, select and set up equipment, prepare workspaces, and handle workpieces effectively. Through practical exercises, students will cut coupons in different materials and thicknesses, ensuring smooth edges and proper detachment from the base metal. Additionally, students will develop skills in gouging operations, including setting up the carbon electrode. controlling gouge depth, and inspecting for defects.
