Catalog description

This course is designed to present materials and create thinking relating to nursing care regarding the patient's mental health and their affective domain. The student will become aware of attitudes and feelings of both self and patients when faced with the critical issues and decisions relating to impending surgery, loss of extremity, fright, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, dying, etc. The course includes nursing interventions and communications skills as related to the different situations.
