Intro to Federal Government

Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive survey of the origins, structure, functions, and processes of the United States government. Emphasis is placed on the constitutional foundations of the national government, the roles of its branches and institutions, and the interaction between citizens, interest groups, and policymakers in shaping public affairs. Students will examine the nature and purpose of American governance, explore current political issues, and develop an understanding of how governmental principles apply to daily life and civic participation. Successful completion of this course evidence of having passed the U.S. Constitution test.
