Catalog description

Students will review films including Hollywood, African-American, International, and Third World Cinema weekly from the early 1900s through present day to examine the nature of filmmaking’s social and psychological role in society. Students will also learn about narrative filmmaking through critical analysis of theories in structuralism, auteurism, ideological criticism and spectatorship.
