Shasta College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This is a required course for the Associate Degree Nursing program at Shasta College and one of two corequisite courses that comprise the fourth semester. In this course, students expand previously learned clinical nursing concepts and skills to become increasingly independent. Students have assigned clients in a variety of clinical settings. For example, clinical rotations may include rehabilitation, critical care, mental health, and community health settings. The course also includes clinical simulation and a preceptorship. The emphasis of the course is on integration of theory and the nursing process into clinical application while providing students various opportunities to demonstrate critical thinking and advanced nursing skills. A portion of this course may be offered in a distance education format.
