Limitation on Enrollment: Meet the minimum job performance requirements for Fire Fighter 1 in NFPA 1001: Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications related to safety; fire behavior; portable extinguishers; personal protective equipment (PPE); ladders; fire hose, appliances, and streams; overhaul; water supply; ventilation; forcible entry; and building construction (NFPA 1403) <br> <br> This course is designed to develop fundamental skills in combating structure fires by providing the students with a thorough understanding of fire behavior, ventilation procedures and techniques, and interior and exterior fire attack using a live-fire simulator. In many cases, this will be the fire fighter's first exposure to live structural firefighting.
