Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth study of major horticultural pests, including insects, weeds, and plant diseases, with a focus on their identification, impact on commercial nursery crops, and control strategies. Students will explore integrated pest management techniques, emphasizing cultural, biological, mechanical/physical, and chemical control methods. The course is tailored to help students prepare for California pest management licensing exams. Laboratory work is required. This course may be offered in a distance education format.
