Musicianship II builds on the basic introduction in Musicianship I of techniques of instrumental and vocal compositional writing in the tonal idiom and advances these to the intermediate level. Proficiency in the subject matter is acquired through the study, writing, and exercise of melodic and rhythmic notation, diatonic harmony, and voice leading, as well as through listening.
