Catalog description
This course offers an introduction to the legal framework governing data and Artificial Intelligence in Italy and the European Union. It examines the institutional and regulatory foundations essential to understanding how AI systems are designed, deployed, and monitored within a highly structured and multilayered legal environment where EU AI Act and Italian Law on AI work together. Topics include data governance and datasets training, digital copyright, trade secrets protection and enterprise know-how, personal, synthetic and anonymized data, the AI use in health sector and scientific research, and cybersecurity. Through regulatory analysis and comparisons, students of all discipline will develop a basic understanding of the legal duties, risks, and safeguards that shape the European and Italian approach to Artificial Intelligence.
