Catalog description
Internal affairs departments exist to maintain accountability, legality, and ethicality in law enforcement agencies. In this course, students will learn about the nuances of working in internal affairs, applying ethical and legal frameworks to analyze ethical incidents that occur in law enforcement practice (both in communities and within law enforcement organizations themselves). Furthermore, students will learn common arguments for and against internal affairs, in its current form, and learn new perspectives on how internal affairs practices can be further refined.
