This course provides a comprehensive examination of criminal justice systems around the world. Students will analyze and compare the structure, function, and social context of legal traditions across different countries and regions. The course explores how historical, cultural, political, and socioeconomic factors influence the development and operation of diverse criminal justice systems. Special attention is given to policing, courts, corrections, and criminal law in selected nations, with an emphasis on identifying best practices and understanding global criminal justice challenges and reform efforts.
