Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce principles of coaching and team/program administration for team and individual sport. Areas covered will include, but not limited to: coaching philosophy, coaching styles, game strategies, athlete communication, leadership, building a culture, drill development, building a support (coaching) staff, and navigating issues associated with coaching/team management. Students will be exposed to administrative responsibilities including but not restricted to: recruiting, scouting, fundraising, department meetings/higher administration benchmarks, NIL, transfer portal, rules and regulations, travel arrangements, meals/nutrition, etc.
